The Project — SUSS School Student Giveaway Socks
Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) approached Aquaholic to create a batch of custom socks as student giveaways for a campus event. The university wanted something students would actually wear and keep — not the usual disposable event swag that ends up forgotten in a drawer.
We produced full-colour sublimation crew socks featuring a retro-inspired design that incorporated the SUSS branding along with an outdoor adventure theme. The sublimation printing technique allowed us to achieve vibrant, edge-to-edge colour coverage with a nostalgic retro effect that gave the socks a vintage, well-loved aesthetic right out of the package.
The socks were a hit with students — they felt premium, looked cool enough to wear casually, and served as a memorable branded keepsake from the event. SUSS appreciated the fast turnaround and the quality that made these socks stand out from typical promotional items.

What Made This Project Special
The retro-effect design was central to this project. SUSS wanted socks that felt nostalgic and trendy, with a vintage aesthetic that resonated with their student demographic. Our design team worked with their artwork to apply a distressed, retro-wash look across the full sock surface using sublimation techniques — something that would be impossible with traditional screen printing or embroidery.
The “SUSS Outdoor Adventure” branding featured a mountain crest logo with bold typography and warm earth tones on a deep navy base. The sublimation process captured every gradient and texture detail, resulting in socks that looked like authentic vintage outdoor merchandise rather than a corporate giveaway.
Production was completed within 14 working days from artwork approval to delivery. Each pair was individually packaged, making them easy to distribute at the campus event. The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive — many posted photos wearing the socks on social media, giving SUSS organic brand exposure well beyond the original event.
