Die-Cut Soft PVC Fridge Magnet with Moulded Relief

Not every fridge takes a magnet any more, and that is worth knowing before you order 500. A lot of newer kitchens have glass-fronted doors or stainless panels that a magnet will not hold to at all, because much decorative stainless is the non-magnetic grade. So a magnet campaign quietly fails in exactly the households that look most like your target market. It is not a reason to avoid them, but it is a reason to think about where else the piece can live: office whiteboards, lockers, filing cabinets and server racks are all steel, and a magnet aimed at a workplace rather than a kitchen is on far safer ground.

A stronger magnet is not automatically a better one. Two things fight each other here. The piece needs enough pull to hold its own weight without creeping down the door, and a moulded magnet is heavier than a printed flat one. But a thick piece also has leverage: the further the mass sits out from the surface, the more easily a knock peels it off, and an over-strong disc on a thin door can be awkward to prise off and will mark paint over time. We match the disc to the finished weight and thickness rather than fitting the strongest one available, and if your design is unusually tall or heavy, say so early so the magnet is specified for it rather than after the first sample slides off the door.

In Malaysian kitchens the adhesive bond matters more than the magnet. The disc is bonded into the recess, and a kitchen here runs warm and humid for most of the year — that combination works on adhesive far harder than an air-conditioned office does. A disc that is only glued into a shallow seat is the usual failure: the magnet stays on the door and the moulded piece drops off it. Ask for the disc to be fully recessed and bonded rather than surface-stuck, which is what the samples here are. It costs nothing extra and it is the difference between a magnet that lasts years and one that separates in a season.
